PHTLS embodies the principle that “Trauma care is a team effort”, ensuring every provider is ready to deliver the right care, at the right time, every time.

The Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Course, developed by the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT), is recognized globally as the premier trauma education program for prehospital providers.

This comprehensive course is designed to enhance and refine the knowledge, critical thinking, and hands-on skills of EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physicians, and first responders who manage trauma patients in the field. Participants learn to apply a systematic approach to trauma care—emphasizing rapid assessment, prioritization of life threats, and evidence-based treatment strategies that improve patient outcomes.

Through dynamic lectures, interactive case discussions, and realistic skill stations, providers will develop confidence and proficiency in managing everything from blunt and penetrating injuries to multi-system trauma in both urban and austere environments.

Duration: 16 hours (typically two days)
